This is a Great Opportunity to join a great company! We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager for our growing business in Baton Rouge. In this role you will lead operations at 2 cafes (approximately 2 miles apart) and catering (average of 10-15 per week for anywhere from 10-100 guests), serving over 700 client customers per day. The Chef Manager reports to the General Manager and leads a team of 11 Associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full culinary/cafe/catering management of food service operation to include inventory, ordering and receiving
- Proficient in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with a focus on sourcing and using local food products
- Possesses a passion for sustainability
- Management of satellite cafe in addition to main cafe
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have a solid understanding of HACCP
- Three years of food service management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
- Proven knowledge of food and catering trends including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must have experience with safety adherence - zero tolerance on following safety requirements
- Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
- ServSafe certified is a plus
